My favorite hat style ~ Fedora!!
Looks good on most everybody, kids, woman, man, teenager. One color, mix two colors together or switch it up and make a contrasting brim. Add a snazzy hat band and cute or sassy button.

XS: 20”-21”; S: 21”-22”; M: 22”-23”; L: 23”-24”
Felt until it Fits!

A thread in my group “Kreations by Kristi & Friends” is here for you to come and ask questions and/or share your progress and finished Fun Fedora!!

A few tips from project pages:

  • Note that the 2nd marker you place (excluding the one at the beginning of the round), is for visual reference only. on step where you “purl to marker” it’s to the 1st marker.
  • One knitter used clothes pins to hold the crease in the top of the brim until dry.

After dissecting a store bought fedora, I designed the pattern to be knit in one piece from the brim up. Short rows help shape the front brim which can be made longer if desired. The body of the hat can be made taller if you’re looking for more coverage and still retain the signature fedora shaping at the top of the hat.

Knit in the round with doubled worsted weight 100% wool yarn. Easy to knit and easy to follow felting instructions.

A full photo tutorial takes you step by step through shaping the fedora. See picture to left for a cheap and easy way to get a hat form by buying an inexpensive styrofoam head form (available on Amazon) and making a plastic bag “hat” to your desired head measurement!

Hat band suggestions are included or knit the hat band in with a contrast color for an easy peasy Fedora with pizazz.

Have Fun Felting your very own Fedora!

And wear it with Attitude :)
