Wool is naturally self-extinguishing and also has antimicrobial properties which are both perfect for the kitchen. This felted hot pad only takes one skein of Paton’s Soy Wool Stripes but any similar weight yarn can be used. If it is a thinner yarn, you can hold the strands double. You could also hold the strands double and go up a needle size to make a thicker pad.

I had enough yarn for a coaster so that is included as well.
