FELTED MITTENS - Felting is done with 100% pure wool which creates a very thick dense fabric to help keep out the wind, cold and moisture. All in all, they are the warmest mittens ever. Basically, you are knitting an oversized right and left handed mitt. Duplicate stitch is a nice way to decorate them before felting. The felting process is done in the washing machine so you can customize them to fit your own hands perfectly. Embellishments such as; free hand embroidery or needle felting are other options that can be added after they are completed and dried for extra texture and design. Hand washing is recommended in the future to stop further shrinkage. The pattern also includes the felting instructions. Felting is very addictive. I love to make felted slippers and purses as well. Enjoy the journey!
