Felted Mitts
We all like super warm mitts in the winter. These mittens fit the bill. Felting repel waters and wind. They will stretch when wet but should return to the original shape when shrunk again and dried.
These mittens are made of 100% wool yarn, 1 ball for each pair of children’s and women’s and 2 balls for men’s. When making mittens with a ribbed cuff that is to be added after felting, use 100% cotton for the first couple of rows of knitting so that it can be removed later and so that stitches can be picked up for the cuff.
These mittens can have a ribbed cuff knitted onto it after felting which is really good for children. You can choose a different colour or matching colour of worsted yarn that will not felt when they are rewashed. Felting is an easy task and instructions are included with the pattern.
