About the pattern
The Santa Bottle Cover is knitted on double-pointed needles, or circular needles with the Magic Loop technique. The body is knitted in stockinette stitch, before changing color and knitting the face in stockinette. When the face is done, you change colors again to make the hat. First you make a small border on the hat, before the rest of the hat is knitted in stockinette stitch with gradual decreases at the top. Lastly, you knit a small nose in garter stitch which is sewn on afterwards. When the knitting is done, the project is felted either in the washing machine or the dryer. If you wish, you can also sew on two buttons as eyes.

The bottle cover fits a small 0.5l water or soda bottle. Fill the bottle with water and pull the Santa Bottle Cover over.

Yarn usage: Light gray bottle cover (same color on the body and the hat):
Color 1 (light gray): ca. 35 g
Color 2 (white): ca. 5 g

You can change out the colors as you like, i.e. knitting the hat in a different color, or adding stripes to the body. See the pictures for some examples. Adding stripes is a great way of using up some scrap yarn as it would not require more than 10-15 g of yarn.
