Driving up a thin dirt road, you wonder what you’ve gotten yourself into as you realize you are going to have to ford a stream. Wheel spinning, you manage to get through only to find a remote parking lot. Roosevelt Elk walk through the dunes in the distance. But you didn’t come to sit at the beach, you came to discover a lost world. It doesn’t take long to scurry up the trail only to be presented with canyon where the walls are so covered in ferns, they have inspired the name: Fern Canyon.

These socks are inspired by my time exploring Fern Canyon, a place in Northern California that was used to film The Lost World: Jurrasic Park, among other dinosaur films. It is a cousin to the Prance Past The Poppies socks that are similarly inspired by California.

Written to use either fingering weight or sport weight yarn, the Fern Canyon socks are ready for adventure. These socks are top down and any heel or toe can be used in place of the recommended one.
