Rising up from the horizon, the mountains etch their beauty into the sky. Snow glows white from their caps, a stark contrast to the grey blue of the spruce & pines that roll by the car window. Mellow acoustic notes waft through the cabin of the car as the open road beckons. Hot coffee trembles slightly in the cupholder, rich & strong, smelling like comfort & sentience. A longing for the unknown, for the unexperienced, for finding the heart’s home in the roaming.

A white sky is blanketed by aimlessly drifting stratus clouds. Fat, lazy snowflakes are wafting inadvertently through the air, with no landing place to be seen. A wintry mix of snow and fog brushes the top of the distant grey-green mountains clothed in pines. There are no trails here, no paths previously trodden by friendly feet. Only scattered intersecting paths of the wild animals that roam by night. At midnight, when the lights have all been extinguished, and the eyes have adjusted to the dark, a new foothpath will be laid, only to be swept away by the wind and snow once again.

This sweater is worked in the round from the bottom up. Work body up to the underarm, then set aside to work the sleeves. Once you have finished the body and sleeves, you are ready to start the yoke by knitting the live stitches of one sleeve, the front of the sweater, the live stitches of the second sleeve, and the back of the sweater. The underarm stitches remain on hold and will be sewn closed when you have finished with the yoke colorwork and decreases.
