Festa is your new favourite cardigan. With its ample and casual form, low-cut sleeves, and knitted with our Lovely Merino Treat in the colour Cornish Slate, it is just made for snuggling up in it. Festa’s shawl collar and wide, fold-over plackets offer stylish warmth - and even pockets. The design by Becky Baker is a real feast for those who like to try new knitting techniques and love interesting constructions. Latvian Braids at the cuffs and shoulders as well as curved Vikkel Braids at the body are delightful details and offer you an exciting knitting experience.

Festa is knitted almost completely seamlessly from the top down. You start knitting the shoulder pieces separately, shaping them with German short rows, then join them as you go before moving on to the body. The provisionally cast-on stitches of the front and back shoulders are joined together by a three-needle bind-off worked on the outside. The resulting line decorates the upper shoulder together with Latvian Braids. To obtain the unusual shape of the body, you work decreases right down to the hem ribbing. For the low-cut sleeves, stitches are picked up around the armhole and knitted in a 2x2 rib pattern. For the placket, you also pick up stitches along the front edges and neckline, then knit the rib pattern incorporating German short rows to create the shawl collar curve and pockets. Finally, the placket is folded over towards the body and grafted to the body and hem to form the pockets.

The year 2022 is a very special one for us - we look back on 10 years of Rosy Green Wool. Time to remember and also to celebrate. Our collection this year is therefore called Decade. The individual designs honour our anniversary with their names in different languages. Festa is Portuguese and means party.
