This Shawl was inspired by Fibonacci’s math sequence. Leonardo Fibonacci of Pisa, was a mathematician who lived in Italy during the 13th century. His sequence is characterized by the fact that every number after the first two is the sum of the two preceding ones. 1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21,34 … to infinity.

This sequence appears throughout nature, from the leaf arrangements in plants, to the pattern in the florets of a flower and the appearance of this sequence is known to be pleasing to the eye.

This shawl is inspired by Fibonacci’s sequence in hopes that the beauty of this shawl will be as pleasing to your eye as it is throughout nature.

You can change to a different yarn weight as gauge is not as important for this shawl. Just make sure to read the notes in the pattern before knitting it with a different yarn weight.
