This shoulder shawl is the fifth and last in the series of shoulder shawls made with bulky yarn. The next shoulder shawl “on the drawing board” will be knit with sport/DK weight yarn.

The shawl is worked from the bottom to top and a collar is then added. A garter slip pattern is knitted on the bottom, center front bands and the edge of the collar.

The entire series is dedicated to Jo, a good friend who died earlier this year (as I mentioned in the note of the last posted shoulder shawl pattern). She was a very giving lady. These shoulder shawls are meant to provide not only warmth, but also a sense of caring to the recipient.

The Fifth Shoulder Shawl is a little larger than the previous shawls and required about 3 1/2 skeins of the Ella Rae Seasons yarn.
