Fig 28 Filet Crochet Purse by Virginia Snow

Fig 28 Filet Crochet Purse

Vintage pattern, c. 1910, for a miser’s ring purse (small purse suspended from a finger ring, made with chains suspended across the opening to increase difficulty in accessing contents.)

Purse is written in American crochet terms, but gives no gauge, suggested yarn, or suggested hook size. Crochet thread with a hook 2mm or less in size seems appropriate.

Requires a ring to be covered in single crochet. Brass is recommended, but plastic could be used these days.

Piece is worked from one vertical edge of the bag to the other, continuously, across front and back sides and flap.
