Filet Tree Stripes Blanket
The Filet Tree Stripes Blanket pattern has 38 colour pages giving detailed written instructions with colour photos on how to crochet this pretty filet project.
The pattern uses DK yarn and a 4.5mm hook. The border is worked using a 4mm hook. Any weight yarn and corresponding hook may be used but sizes and yarn quantities will vary.
The blankets pictured take approx. 200g (car seat blanket 50cm x 60cm) of DK yarn, with each strip of motifs (7 trees) taking approx. 20g of yarn + approx. 50g yarn for the border. Instructions are given for altering the size of the blanket.
The blanket is worked in strips of filet crochet which are then joined together using the “Join as you Go” method - video tutorial provided. Instructions are also given for two different borders.
As this item is not fitted, gauge is not important. The gauge given is related to the approximate size of the blankets in the pattern.
The pattern requires a basic knowledge of crochet stitches and techniques and is suitable for confident beginners. A link to a video tutorial on all stitches used for this blanket is provided in the pattern along with video tutorials for all special stitches.
The pattern is written in UK terms with US conversions included. Stitches (UK) used are:
Ch. (Chain)
Sl. st. (Slip stitch)
Stk dc. (stacked double crochet - video tutorial)
Dc. (double crochet)
Tr. (treble crochet)
fptr (front post treble - video tutorial)
