Filigree
Filigree features two slightly different square motifs designed for both Mosaic Crochet and Interlocking Crochet. The motifs are the same in both techniques, with separate instructions provided for each.
Each motif measures 73 sts × 73 rows in Mosaic Crochet and 36 × 36 windows in Interlocking Crochet.
For both techniques, the pattern includes solid and non-solid versions of both motifs.
You can work the motifs from the center outward or from the bottom up. The bottom-up instructions allow you to work multiple motifs side by side as one continuous piece, making a blanket or scarf of any desired width.
The pattern also includes instructions for a blanket worked continuously in the round from the center. Start with Motif 1 and continue by adding motifs in a checkerboard arrangement. You can stop at 3 × 3 motifs or continue to 5 × 5 motifs. A border can be added to either size.
The pattern includes:
- Mosaic Crochet – motifs and envelope border, worked from the center or bottom up
- Mosaic Crochet – blanket worked in the round from the center
- Interlocking Crochet – motifs and border, worked from the center or bottom up
- Interlocking Crochet – blanket worked in the round from the center
- Filigree Small Backpack Project Notes
The solid Mosaic Crochet version is worked in the familiar overlay mosaic crochet style with diagonal stitches.
The non-solid Interlocking Crochet version is worked in the familiar traditional interlocking crochet style.
The solid Interlocking Crochet version is the most challenging to work.
Skill level: Advanced
The pattern includes detailed written instructions, step-by-step photos, charts, and links to video tutorials.
