Filocorsa Socks are worked from the cuff down using the two-color Helix knitting method. They feature a 1 × 1 half-twisted rib cuff, a reinforced textured heel flap, and a round toe.

Inspired by the Italian words filo (“thread”) and corsa (“race”), Filocorsa reflects the way two yarns follow one another continuously around the sock. Helix knitting is also a wonderful way to give leftover yarn a new life and create your own unique color combinations.

Two colors are required for all sizes. You may also use any other fingering-weight yarn with a yardage of approximately 400–420 m per 100 g, including leftover yarn from other projects. For an interesting effect, combine a solid color with a textured, variegated, speckled, or self-striping yarn.

Needles and tools:

• 2.25–2.5 mm circular needles with an 80–100 cm cable, or the needle size needed to obtain gauge
• Tapestry needle
• Stitch markers
• Extra needle for picking up stitches

Gauge:
33 sts × 44 rows = 10 × 10 cm in stockinette stitch after washing and blocking.
