Filsa Sweater
This pattern has been updated in 2026. If you are following along with the 0-3 month size from the YouTube tutorial, please note that while the numbers have changed, all of the techniques remain the same!
The word ‘filsa’ means button in Tunisian, and seemed like the perfect fit for this adorable little sweater! It features a cropped body and three-quarter sleeves, and is knit seamlessly top-down. You’ll start by working flat to create the button opening and then join to work in the round after the raglan increases. The simple lacework only uses two techniques, and can easily be left out of the pattern to suit a different style. The sleeves are knit using the magic loop method, with an I-cord bind-off that mimics the rolled hem at the neck edge.

2 (3, 3, 3) 4, 5, 5 skeins of Sandnes Garn Double Sunday (100% merino wool) or 100 (150, 150, 150) 200, 250, 250 grams / 216 (324, 324, 324, 432, 540, 540) m / 236 (354, 354, 354) 472, 590, 590 yds of DK weight yarn that measures approximately 118 yards / 108 meters per 50 grams.
NEEDLES:
-16 inch / 40 cm US6 (4mm) circular needle
-32 inch / 80 cm US 6 (4mm) circular needle
NOTIONS:
Tapestry needle, 5 stitch markers, scrap yarn, 1 button (approx. 1-1.5 cm)
