Crochet a soft action figure inspired by the fireball-throwing wizard of the Final Fantasy video game, the Black Mage. Makes a fast, easy, cute gift for the gamer in your life. For even more 8-bit fun, team it with my White Mage and Red mage patterns.

Finished Mage is about 4.5 inches (11 cm) tall with hat, 3.5 inches (9 cm) without hat, and 2.5 inches (6 cm) wide at the base. Hat brim is about 3.5 inches (9 cm) wide. Doll stands on its own. You will need an E/3.5mm hook, worsted-weight yarn, felt, stuffing, and glue.

Pattern is for those with beginning to intermediate crochet skills and basic needle-work skills. Parts are made in spiral rounds. To make doll, you will need to know how to:
-- read a crochet pattern
-- chain
-- single crochet
-- single crochet decrease or invisible decrease
-- half double crochet
-- optional: magic adjustable loop

Pattern includes:
-- definitions of stitch abbreviations
