This sweet textured beret & cowl set was created to showcase both solid & variegated yarns.
Knitted with worsted weight wool yarn; they feature an easy to knit cabled look pattern that is merely slipped & twisted stitches.
You’ll be finished in no time!

Finished Size
Beret: 18” / 46 cm circumference (stretchy enough to fit S/M/L head sizes) and 9 ½” / 24 cm tall to crown

Cowl: 26” / 66 cm long (including button placket) and 9” / 23 cm high (including collar)

Yarn The Yarns of Rhichard Devrieze – 100% Merino superwash wool; 175 yds/160m per 2.8 oz/80g – Country Casual (MC), 2 skeins (you need 2 to complete hat) & Steel (CC), 1 skein

Needles US Size 7/4.5 mm & 8/5 mm – 16” & 24” circular needles

Hook US Size I-9/5.5 mm (optional – for trim on hat)

Gauge 22 sts + 32 rows = 4”/10 cm in Twisted Rib pattern on smaller needles
20 sts + 28 rows = 4”/10 cm in Alternating Twists pattern on larger needles

Pattern Notes
• Beret is knitted in the round on circular needles, beginning at the brim. Cowl is worked back and forth in rows, button placket is added last.
• When told to work patterns as established, knit the k sts and purl the p sts.
