The Finely Forked Pointed Scarf crochet pattern is an airy, diamond-shaped scarf, and a great way to introduce a new stitch into your repertoire! The forked hdc gives this shawl a nice subtle texture, and unique triangle shapes inside the striped rows. Also, the skipped stitches create a nice airy effect, so this is a great option for wearing on chillier summer nights, as well as during the fall season. This pattern is size adjustable too, so depending on the dimensions you create, it can be used as a long or short scarf or even a front-tie shawl/wrap!

Forked Hdc (Htr) – explained in pattern.

Format:
The pattern consists of Written Instructions (centered around a 4-row repeat to increase/decrease the size and shape of the scarf) as well as a detailed Chart (consisting of a scaled-down version of the scarf to help visually outline the row repeats and stitch placements), and Photos showing a scaled-down sample of the pattern chart for the main increasing/decreasing repeats as well as a photo showing the recommended placement of the border stitches.

PDF Downloads are available in a Printer-Friendly version (read left-to-right across the entire page) and a Mobile-Optimized version (split into 2 columns; read top-to-bottom, from left-to-right column), as well as a Low Visibility version (continue reading below for more details on each format).

All versions can technically be used interchangeably from a Mobile device or Printed copy depending on your preferences, but they are specifically formatted to help accommodate those who use a pattern holder vs mobile devices to view their patterns, so you can conveniently work from the pattern in multiple scenarios!

The Print version is formatted in wide rows, spanning from left to right across the width of the page (not including margins), and is designed to be used with pattern holders that utilize an elastic or magnet to underline the row you are currently on. This wider sentence format also makes better use of the page space (without being overcrowded), which helps reduce the number of pages you need to print out, therefore reducing the amount of ink needed to print it as well.

The Mobile version is designed to help mobile pattern users view the entire row instructions on the screen (in a readable font size!) by double-tapping or zooming in, rather than having to continually adjust/pan the document left and right, line by line, to read the entire row instructions when working from wide-format row instructions (which I’ve found can sometimes result in a line being accidentally skipped over if the document is being moved back and forth at a slight diagonal angle.) As someone who also just struggles in general with keeping track of/finding my place on a page when I’m reading a long string of text, I find the Mobile version to be beneficial whether viewing on my phone or on a printed page!

Low Visibility Accessible Pattern PDF:
Included in the download options is a Low Visibility option, in both US and UK terminology. It adheres to the following formatting:
-Black text
-Font 22 - 24 points
-Sans serif font (Arial)
-No italics
-All directions are in written form. If a chart is including in the pattern, it cannot be relied on to complete the pattern.

I hope these various options can help you choose and work from the most accessible format for you, and I always appreciate your feedback on your experience with them!
