These simple fingerless granny square mitts expand slightly on the basic granny square by including a small extension to cover your hand below your thumb. This is a great weekend project for using up some of your worsted weight scrap yarn!

This free pattern is super basic but is intended for crocheters who are familiar with the following: American crochet term abbreviations, how to ch, ss, sc, hdc, dc, trc, and ex-trc, as well as: make a magic ring, a standing stitch, and a stitch for joining seams.

The pattern makes mitts sized for an adult size large, which can be made larger or smaller by adding or subtracting rounds, or by changing the yarn diameter, or your gauge.

The pattern is 9 pages long and includes photos to help explain. As of Nov 2021, this pattern is in the process of being tested, so you may find mistakes. I’ll update the pattern with any corrections if necessary as soon as it’s been tested.

I hope you like the pattern and would love to see photos of your finished work!
