My knitting group knits for the homeless and I have devised this pattern to incorporate the mitten flap (or flip). As a charity knit, gauge is less important. I have found overall that DK yarn on 4.00mm needles suits a smaller hand and worsted yarn on 4.5mm needles suits a larger hand.. 100g yarn in either weight will complete the project.
These are knitted in the round with a thumb gusset and extension and a mitten top and flap.
