This design was born from my love and passion for locally sourced wool yarn.
Even though our local wool doesn’t have the soft feel that children would love, I still wanted to make it enjoyable for children too.
I made this stocking short so that it could be knit with less than one 100g skein of each color. And it’s also suitable for tiny Tokyo apartment life with no fireplace, or even space for a tree….
The colorwork design can be personalized with your own initials.
Pattern is technically edited and test knitted.

Construction:
First you knit the colorwork leg with MC and CC from the provisional cast-on upwards to the cuff . Then undo the provisional cast-on and work downwards the heel, foot and toe with MC only.
The instructions are the same for both sizes; the difference of the final sizes is due to the use of different weight yarns.

編み込み模様が楽しくて、好きなイニシャルを入れて作れるクリスマスの靴下です
日本で暮らす羊たちの毛を生かした紡績糸「羊ノ糸」で編みました。
柔らかい羊毛を生産することを目的に飼育されているわけではない羊たちの毛は、日本の気候で暮らす子供たちが喜ぶ肌ざわりではないかもしれないけれど、子供たちにこそ知ってほしいし触れてほしい♡
何よりこの糸を縮絨して仕上げた風合いの良さを大人にも子供にも知ってほしいと思って作りました。
MCの糸が1かせあれば編めるようにしたくてちょっと短めの靴下になっています。暖炉もないし、クリスマスツリーすら置く場所を考えてしまう東京の小さなマンション暮らしにはちょうどいいサイズです…♡

概要：
後から解ける作り目からはじめて、2色で模様編みをしながら履き口に向かって下から上に編みます 。次に後から解ける作り目を解いて反対側に向かって編み、かかとからつま先までをMCだけで編みます。
どちらのサイズも編み方は同じで、仕上がりサイズの違いは、使う糸の太さによるものです。
