In Finland the summer is full of overwhelming green, the nature is full of berries and, later on, mushrooms. In the gardens, currants and other berries mature first and in autumn the apples.
In Italy the summer turns burnt yellow at the beginning of June and in the wilds it’s difficult to find anything edible from late June on.
One of the rare things that mature in July are the blackberries. They bloom with pale pink flowers from May to June and, if at least some rain arrives, the berries start to grow in late June. First red, the berries turn to almost black when they mature.

Fior di mora is a triangular shawl with continuous color changes. Knitting begins at the top tip. When the intended width has been reached, the remainder of the shawl is shaped with decreases.
The sample uses a set of six 50 g skeins, but the pattern works well from 3 to as many colors as you wish!

One size, wingspan 188 cm / 74” , depth 55 cm /21.75”

Needles
3.5 mm (US 4) - 100 cm /40” circular needles, or as required to obtain gauge.
4 mm (US 6) needle for BO.

Beehive Yarns Audrey Classic Sock (75 % Merino wool, 25% nylon, 212 m / 50 g)
C1 – C6: 1 skein of EACH color or
C1: 100 m /110 yds
C2: 85 m / 95 yds
C3: 110 m / 120 yds
C4: 120 m /130 yds
C5: 145 m /160 yds
C6: 90 m / 100 yds of fingering weight yarn.
All meterage contains 15% buffer. Please note that the metrage is an estimation. Even small changes in gauge will change the final consumption.

Gauge
18 sts x 36 rows = 10 cm /4” in Mora lace after blocking.
(NOTE: Gauge is not crucial, but it will affect finished dimensions and yarn consumption.)

Notions
1 removable marker, tapestry needle.
Optional: st markers for lace repeats.

Techniques used
Knitting flat, basic increases and decreases, lace knitting on RS, stretchy BO.
