Finished Size
16 (18, 20)“ circumference
10 ¼” tall.

Shown the smallest size knit with a yarn with very little elasticity. If using a yarn with very little ‘bounce’ such as cashmere, alpaca, or cotton choosing a smaller size with negative ease will ensure a secure fit. For 100% wool or yarns with a lot of bounce, the middle size should fit an average adult head.

Yarn

160 (180, 200) yards DK weight yarn

Shown here:
Blue Sky Fibers Eco-Cashmere (50% recycled cashmere, 50% virgin cashmere; 164 yd 150 m/ 1¾ oz 50 g): #1807 Gold Rush, 1 (2, 2) skeins

Needles
Sizes 4 (3.5 mm) and 6 (4 mm): 16” circular (cir). Size 6 (4 mm): set of double-pointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions
Marker (m); cable needle (cn); tapestry needle.

Gauge
12-st pattern repeat = 2” wide; 31 rnds = 4” in patt on larger needle.

NOTES

This hat is worked in the round from the bottom up.

The sample is shown in the smallest size, it used nearly every inch of one skein of yarn. If you plan to add any length to the brim, or if your gauge is different from the stated gauge, please purchase additional yarn.
