Ah, those colorful, beckoning, bedazzling skeins of variegated yarn. We all have them. They’re irresistible; like soap bubbles, flower gardens, or firefly wings.
Unfortunately, too many of them knit up like skittle barf unless--yes, unless they’re paired with a pattern that makes them shine. And then they really shine, turning ‘What was I thinking?’ into vindication and a show-off project.
So, go on. Take that skein of variegated ‘I don’t know what to do with this,’ and turn it into your favorite shawl.

This pattern provides two versions: one for fingering weight yarn, and one for sport weight. Because of the differing stitch count, the are both roughly the same size. Directions for other than the recommended yardage are included, so you can make this with any yarn weight, any size you want. Make it your own.
