Inspired by the textiles of the Italian Renaissance, the Firenze mittens come in two sizes, with separate charts for each size. The mittens have a Scandinavian thumb and braiding on the cuffs, and are finished with a three-needle bind off. A matching cowl pattern is also available; both patterns can be made with 1x50g and 1x20g of each colour of the recommended yarn.

Yarn: Sunday Knits 3-ply (225m/246yd per 50g), 123 yds/113 m each of MC & CC1, 5 yds CC2 for braid, plus enough for swatching.

Small sample: MC = Nirvana (92% merino, 8% cashmere), Charcoal; CC1 = Eden (100% merino), Sage; CC2 = Eden, Fawn.

Large sample: MC = Nirvana, Sand; CC1 = Eden, Sage; CC2 = Eden, Curry).

Needles: US2/2.75mm or size needed to get gauge, in preferred needle type for small circumference in the round

Notions: 3 stitch markers, scrap yarn, yarn/tapestry needle for weaving in ends
