As the late autumn days turn to winter in the northern hemisphere, it’s time to bring out your Fireside Jacket and snuggle down beside the roaring log fire in your snow covered thatched cottage down that ancient, deserted English country lane.

As you ponder when it’s time for your own Jude Law to struggle though the drift to your door, crack open that glass of wine, some raunchy glam-rock, and the last of your Fireside yarn.

Time for mittens!

They’re made in the round, on DPNs or a circular needle, from bottom-up, all in one piece, using less than one skein.

You will need Amber’s Fireside Sweater pattern for this cable design, and we’re thinking this might also make a great swatch or try-out before you do the full jacket.

Or you can also substitute with a cable design of your own, or do plain rib. Customise the cable, make longer at the wrist or over the fingers, as you wish.

We love these, and so will you!
