Turn heads at your next bbq with this bright sunburst design inspired by summer fireworks. Make in muted red, white and blue to celebrate a patriotic 4th of July (but keep it subtle enough to wear again) or try a monotone for an ombre look. Perfect last minute project to put your scraps to work!

The headband is worked outward from the firework motif. First you will work in the round to create the firework motif, then edge to edge to create the band. There are no mid-round color changes. Tie the headband onto the head to customize the fit. Since the headband is adjustable, gauge is not critical and will only affect yardage and headband width.

You will need approximately 90 yds/83 m for the main color and 5 yds/4.5 m each of two contrasting colors for the fireworks motif. Stitches used include chains, sc, dc, bobble stitch (photo tutorial included), puff stitch (photo tutorial included). Pattern is written in english, standard US terminology.

Firework motif measures 4 inches/10 cm in diameter. Headband tails are each 18.5 inches/47 cm long.
