Notes
Join me as we unravel the secret art of sideways knitting for the coziest socks ever in this video walk-through!

Pattern includes links to relevent tutorials. Tutorials are also posted to the the YumiYarns Tutorials page.

The needle size listed is the needle size I regularly use, but I am a very loose knitter so you may need to go up 1-2 needle sizes to get a fabric that you like. Most knitters do well with US size 2 (2.75 mm) & if you are a tight or newer knitter you may want to try a US size 3 (3.25 mm). If you know your standard needle size for sock knitting, use that instead of what I have listed (the size that gives you gauge).

Make sure that your begining of round marker is different from your other markers so you can tell the difference. Locking markers are recommended.

The First Impressions Socks are designed to use up those little bits and bobs of leftover fingering-weight yarn that we all seem to have stashed around our homes. The pattern works well with any dye-style (even those wild variegated ones) and is offered in 12 sizes from Baby S - Adult XXL so you can knit them up for yourself or for someone you love.

These socks have an unusual sideways construction, but plenty of tutorials so don’t assume that they’re difficult. They feature reverse stockinette, fade stripes, and contrast heels, toes, & cuffs but you can feel free to play around with your leftovers and change things as you see fit. Just view the pattern colors as a guide & have fun with your scrap yarns, everything will turn out beautifully!

Happy knitting!
