These socks are worked from the cuff down, with a German short-row heel (Boomerang short-row heel) and a toe shaped by simple decreases. They are basic, everyday socks with ribbing as the main feature.
To achieve a neat finish, there are a few key steps where the instructions differ slightly depending on the size.
I hope they will become socks you enjoy wearing every day.

This pattern is written in five sizes, increasing by 4 stitches each (Size 1 = 56 sts, Size 2 = 60 sts, Size 3 = 64 sts, Size 4 = 68 sts, Size 5 = 72 sts). You can adjust the pattern to knit a size other than those specified. Since the stitch count increases in multiples of 4, your adjusted size will fall alternately into either the Size 1, 3, 5 group or the Size 2, 4 group. Determine whether your chosen size should be treated as Size 1, 3, 5 or Size 2, 4, and follow the corresponding instructions for the sections marked with ★. This will ensure that the ribbing aligns neatly. Adjust the decreases at the toe according to your preference.
