This is a really easy first item to make when you are learning to crochet. In much the same way as you might make a garter stitch scarf when learning to knit and then want to do something that is a little more involved and yet still easy for a beginner to produce, this scarf is just a little more involved than working rows of the same stitch back and forth, but is still easily accomplished by a beginner to crochet who wants to move on to the next stage.

I hope that you will enjoy making it and learning a bit more about crochet.

The scarf is worked in a very small mesh pattern which is achieved by working into the spaces between the treble stitches where you work a chain. This is called the Chain Space (CH space). This is a form of offset filet crochet, hence the tag for filet crochet.

Once you have worked the main part of the scarf you will work the very simple border which goes all the way around the scarf to finish it off neatly.

There are photos within the pattern to show you how you work should look and how the finished scarf looks too. The scarf only requires one 100g ball of yarn to make and the size can be adjusted according to your liking, instructions in the pattern.
