The Fischli pattern is very versatile – you can leave out the fish scale pattern and just knit straight up.
You can combine different colours (great for leftover yarns).
Or you could add Pompoms for an exquisite look.

Yarn:
40 gr light, DK, worsted yarn (yardage 150-180 m / 100gr) (gauge 21-24 St) in two or three colours and 3.5mm needles

The fish scale pattern is usually knitted at the upper part of the Bavarian men’s socks, but I think it works very well as a fish scale pattern.

k1tbl,purl1 for the first row. Then it will work.
