Five Elements MKAL by Tania Richter

Five Elements MKAL

This pattern is available from payhip.com for $15.00.

Introduction -
Earth. Wind. Fire. Water. Aether. These five have joined together to celebrate a monumental event. Choose your element and discover the cardinal creature representing your element. Keep in mind that this is not a mix and match pattern, each of the individual elements creates a single pattern. Once you choose an element you are locked into that pattern.

Special notes -
Before we get into the details - This pattern can be knit in either double knitting or stranded colorwork in the round (or flat, if you prefer), instructions for both are included in the pattern.

Equipment -
For either Double Knit or Colorwork in the Round -

800 yards of Main Color and 800 yards of Contrasting Color (1600 yards total)
Stitch markers
16” US 2 - 2.75 mm needles - or size needed to obtain gauge
Tapestry needle

Colors -
Some good color combos to try out include -
• Red and Black
• Blue and Gold
• Gold and Black
• Silver and Blue
• Green and Gold
• Black and White
• White and Pine
Remember that you can always test if your colors have enough contrast by taking a photo of the colors side by side and using a filter to turn it into a black and white photo.

Swatching -
Gauge is not vital to this project, so swatching is not necessary. If, however, you want to do a test swatch there are two sets of swatching patterns I have up for free – Four Elements Baby Dragons 1 and 2. Total yardage does not account for swatching.
