Add a detachable or interchangeable pom pom to any crochet or knit hat (or other accessory) with no buttons or sewing required!

With the Five Minute Pom Pom Placer you can easily:
-Remove regular or faux fur poms to wash hats without damaging- faux fur poms won’t get matted and yarn poms won’t fall apart in the wash!
-Style your hat differently to get different looks – easily wear it with or without the pom, or have different colored poms to match your outfit!
-Make a “mood hat” with a set of interchangeable poms for your mercurial teenager. For that matter, make one for yourself. Let your coworkers know that on red pom day, they should wait until after you’ve had coffee to start asking you questions.
-Make a cool “signature” pom that you can move from one hat to another. Whether your spirit animal is a Unicorn, a Panda, a Hedgehog, or some sort of Pokemon, you shouldn’t have to limit your flair to one piece of knitwear!
-Offer craft fair customers lots of customization options without a lot of extra work for yourself, or offer additional poms as an “up-sell”

For the most part, I have seen removable poms attached to hats and other accessories with the use of buttons or snaps, but I really wanted to create something that could easily be popped onto any hat at a moment’s notice, without sewing on a button. With a background in engineering, I know that the best solution is, quite often, the simplest one, and that is what I’ve created with the pom pom placer. It is quick and virtually free to make, easy to use, and comfortable to wear. All you need is about 2-3 yds of any medium weight (worsted/aran) yarn and a hook that works with the yarn.
