Five Winds “Jack” are written as a women’s size medium, cuff-down sock using a stretchy cast on. They are very easily translated into a toe-up sock as well. If you feel more comfortable using the Magic Loop method, by all means, convert. In this picture, I used Ancient Arts fingering weight yarn, on their sock base “Socknado” in the colorway River Rock, and Cascade 220 Fingering weight in the colorway Black.

Pattern is charted and written out. Links are included for stretchy cast on, cable without a cable needle, and kitchener stitch.

The last two pictures are of Jack :) happily enjoying lots of attention in his new home.

100% of sale proceeds go directly to Five Winds Ranch Rescue and Rehabilitation, a not-for-profit operation run by a husband and wife team on their ranch in Southern Alberta, Canada. Five Winds mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home horses who have been abandoned, neglected, or surrendered. As you can imagine, it takes a lot of work (and cash) to manage an operation like this. By purchasing this pattern, you are directly helping a horse get the veterinary care it might need and find a kind, loving, forever home. You can find Five Winds Ranch on Facebook and Instagram.
