This unusual design features a ruffle snaking along the length of the scarf. It would suit a knitter with some experience.

The scarf is knitted entirely in garter stitch. The triangular sections are achieved with short-row shaping, and the ruffle is made in small lengths and grafted in as the work progresses. The ends of these shorter pieces are sewn together afterwards to give the impression of one long ruffle. The pattern features photos and full instructions on the grafting process.

The scarf in the picture was knitted in King Cole ‘Mirage’, and two 100gr balls were used to give a finished length of around 5’. Any DK-weight yarn would give a pleasing result.
