This is a patter for a cable lace cowl. The finished cowl measures 9 inches X 48 inches. The cable lace cowl can be worn as a spring garment, draping over your shoulders in a way that won’t fall off. Or it can be made to be warmer, by wrapping it around your neck and shoulders, as seen in the pictures. However, you may have a favorite way to wear cowls that’s different from mine. The cable lace stitch is a very open one, so it is suitable for at least three seasons, in addition to being very feminine.

The cowl is knit flat and the ends are connected with the mattress stitch. Adjusting the sizing is easy, as the repeats are only 10 stitches, so the cowl can be made any length you’d like. The height is also easily adjusted.

The lace stitches are charted only.

Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a good working knowledge of both knitting, purling, and cable lace knitting.)

The yarn used in the sample is is Malabrigo’s Arroya yarn.
