Like so many monsters in their mid-forties, Flash began having problems with his eyesight. It started when he began to have trouble reading his favorite romance novels. Then he started making mathematical errors when balancing his checkbook. But he was stubborn, and didn’t want to confront his age, so his eyesight grew worse and worse. One day he leaned in to kiss his wife, only to realize he was smooching the mailman, who was not amused, so he relented and paid a visit to the eye doctor. He was told he needed bifocals, and of course, they had to be custom made for the monster with five eyes. They were not cheap, but the mailman thinks they’re worth every penny.
