These mittens were originally knitted as a swatch to match the Spark Hat by Jo Kelly at EYF 2016.

With simple stranded colourwork, these fingerless mitts knit up really quickly. Knitted in lovely soft cashmere/wool blend, spun in Scotland, they are also ideal for using up scraps of DK from other projects. 50m of DK is required for the cuff colour, and about 25m of three contrasts are used for the pair.

The thumb gusset is charted separately and the mittens are knitted in the round from the cuff up. There is only one size available, but variations can be made with smaller or larger needles.

Techniques used: Stranded colourwork, ribbing, increases.
