this shawl is worked in all double crochet stitches. it is worked flat and decreases on both sides by one stitch. I used a double crochet foundation row instead of chain. for the small i double crocheted 140, for the medium i double crocheted 170, for the large i double crocheted 200, and the extra large i double crocheted 230. gauge is not important in this shawl. the materials you need are a number 4 worsted weight yarn, a 6.50mm hook, a yarn needle to weave in ends and a pair of scissors. i used red heart super saver ombre and i used one skein for the medium. if you make the large or extra large you will need two skeins of yarn. you need between 400 and and 500 for the small and medium. for the large and extra large you need between 600 and 850 yards.
