Flat Out Fun - Orange Bird was inspired by a little birdie from Orlando. He can be a simple toy, a thoughtful addition to a gift card, or a WarmFuzzy.

This pattern, like all my Flat Out Fun Warm Fuzzy patterns, is worked in the round, beginning with a Magic Circle, and then FOLDED FLAT to finish. No stuffing required! The only assembly needed is to add the little wings. The beak and talons are embroidered on. I’ve included a graph for the cross stitched chest patch, too.

The pattern, calls for worsted weight yarn in orange, yellow, and green, and a 3.75mm hook (size F.) It can be used with any weight yarn, when paired with an appropriately sized hook. I suggest using a hook 1 size smaller than what the yarn band calls for.

Stitches used: The majority of the pattern is done in single crochet. The last row, where the “feet” are created, uses half double and double crochet as well.

The 10mm x 15mm googly eyes used on the sample were purchased at a local craft store.

Other Flat Out Fun Warm Fuzzy designs: Rocket Love Valentine, Fluffy Butt Bunny Rabbit
