When I was creating these socks, I had in mind flowerbeds with well-defined edges and purposeful flower placement. To this end, there is one flowerbed on the front of the sock, and another on the back, with a crisp line delineating the edges.

As always, I encourage you to play with color here! Each set of flowerbeds can be a different color, or repeated as I have in the sample. This is a great opportunity to use miniskeins or leftovers. You can even use a lightly variegated yarn here as your contrast color, but make sure to have a strong contrast with the main color for best results.

Sizes: S (M, L) to fit foot circumferences 7-7.5 (8-8.5, 9-9.5)” or about 18-19 (20-22, 23-24) cm

Yarn: Fingering weight. My sample uses five colors, but I’m giving two different suggestions for yarn combinations.

Suggestion 1: five colors (MC and 4 CCs)
MC: 75g (347 yds / 317m). Background of the body of the sock, plus heel.
CCs: 4 x 20g each (93 yds / 85 m each). One CC for cuffs/toes, and three for body of sock.

Suggestion 2: MC and 5-7 CCs (depending on the length you want). MC for cuffs/heels/toes as well as background for the rest of the sock, with a different CC for each flowerbed.
MC: 75g (347 yds / 317 m)
CCs: 5-7 at 10g each (46 yds / 42 m each)

Needles: US size 1 (2.25mm)
Notions: Stitch markers, tapestry needle
Gauge: 34 stitches and 40 rows to 4” (10cm) worked in stranded colorwork in the round
