This is a stitch pattern from 1912 Fleisher’s Knitting and Crocheting Manual, p.170. Intended for a shawl, this lace could have many uses. There are 8 pattern rows; all the wrong-side rows are “purl across”. There’s a repeat of 6 stitches with 2 selvage stitches to control the yarn overs that would otherwise occur right on the edge.

Skills needed: cast on, knit, purl, YO, k2tog, SK2P and bind off in knit stitch.

Gauge is not important in this pattern. Any block-able yarn/thread will work. Make a swatch to check gauge and appearance.
