Floating Flowers Shawl is a relaxing knit that works into an oversized shawl, perfect to wrap up in during late summer evenings.
The shawl pattern incorporates lace to resemble branches and knot stitch to resemble flowers. Decreases are used on every right side row to form a triangle shape.
You will work a seed stitch border and then proceed in stockinette, at first knitting the flowers close together, then spreading them out gradually as you work up the shawl. After the first flower section you will add in the lace branches that continue to the tip. The shawl design was inspired by flowers slowly floating to the ground as springtime fades and the summer season begins. The sample shown uses 5 skeins of The Farmer’s Daughter Fibers Juicy DK in ‘Spring Fever.’
