The yarn company of the suggested yarn has recently changed its name: from Regenbogenschaf to SKUDDERIA.

„Floccus” is a cloud type with lots of small clouds in the sky: “Cirrus floccus occurs as small tufts of cloud, usually with a ragged base.” For images and explanation, please see https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Floccus or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cirrus_floccus).

I have called my own project “Himmel über Berlin” (Sky over Berlin) because this sweater is intended to debut at the Berlin Knits 2017 yarn festival.

The sweater has a Raglan construction and starts top down with Garter all around, with a few short rows which are used to lower the front neck, neatly integrated into what I have named “Garter (with) Clouds stitch”.

After the striped yoke, the Raglan increases are continued and additionally, a few pleats create additional width.

The “Garter Clouds” stitch is resumed in one color on the sides of the lower body, with a few waist decreases and increases, before the piece ends with a hem in bicolor Garter Clouds.

The 3/4 sleeves are worked in the round in one color with normal decreases and two pleats, ending with a Garter Clouds cuff.

If desired, you can place small 3-stitch-/ 4-row-clouds in contrast color randomly, anywhere on the piece – the pattern includes instructions how to work them in the round.

Available sizes:
XS-XXL (bust width from 86 to 124cm/ 34 to 49 inches)
