Combining pretty bands of Fair Isle patterns and using traditional stranding techniques to create a contemporary boxy pullover that has a classic retro feel.

’Flora’ is worked from the bottom rib up, knitting the complete colour-work pattern in the round, before dividing and knitting back and forth for the armhole and neck shapings. The neckline and armholes ribbings are then knitted in the round to complete.

I design project-based patterns for teaching different knitting techniques. When designing this pattern I wanted to keep the layout simple to read, for someone new to garment knitting aswell as new to reading from fair isle charts. For this reason I have given simply 3 sizes (with 3 corresponding charts)

This pullover is knitted with 2inch/5cm positive ease, e.g the finished bust size for Size 1 will be 36in/91cm
