It is a luxury idea to use Merino DK weight yarn together with lace yarn in Mohair and Silk for a brioche hat. I decided to go for one-color-brioche, because otherwise the hat becomes unaffordable! In the result the brioche pattern becomes a lovely texture and a very warm, fluffy fabric too.

I used wonderful colored yarns, made by La Bien Aimee - the same colorway in Merino DK and Mohair Silk.
The hat has a brim, is very stretchy, slightly slouchy and well-fitting at the same time. The pattern has six repeating rows and is based on basic brioche stitches, increases and decreases. It’s important to note that there is no 4-stitch-decrease to be knit.
You can do it, knitters!

The hat can be knit in multiple sizes only by changing needle size and gauge; Block the finished cap over a steep-sided bowl or other head-shaped form to smooth the crown.
