Floryks
The Legend of the Floryks
They say that even before the first snow disappears from the ground, when the sun is just beginning to warm the fields, a small people wake up in the depths of the forest - the Floryks.
These are tiny spirits of spring, born from the petals of the first flowers: hyacinths, crocuses, snowdrops, tulips… Their hair is made of grass, their eyes are like drops of dew, and each one wears a flower on their head, in which their strength lives.
The Floryks cannot speak human language, but they can be heard if you put your ear to a flower early in the morning, in the fog - then it will whisper something gentle and good. It is the Floryks, imperceptibly for everyone, who wake up the plants after winter, touch each bud and whisper: “It’s time to wake up.”
Each floryk has its own character:
- Hyacinth - gentle, quiet, her presence gives peace.
- Sprout - persistent, never stands still, helps everything grow.
- Tulip - funny, brings joy and sunshine even on a cloudy day. And the floryks live in the underground root of an old oak - in the Flower Grove. There they have small houses made of shells, mushrooms and petals. Once a year, in the first half of April, they organize the Blossom Festival - a magical dance, during which all the flowers in the district bloom in one night. Some say that if you leave a cup of water with a petal on the windowsill - the floryks will fly and bless the house with warmth, greenery and good mood for the whole season.
