Flower Granny Square
This Flower Granny Square is a beginner-friendly yet elegant pattern that works up quickly and adds a lovely floral touch to any project. It’s easy to follow, repetitive, and perfect for many different projects. You can make multiple squares and join them to create bags, tops, blankets, or coasters. The design looks intricate but is simple once you get the hang of the stitches, making it a great choice for both beginners and experienced crocheters looking for a relaxing project.

This pattern uses US terminology
Skill Level: Advanced Beginner
Square brackets indicate the pattern and the number of times it is repeated e.g. sc 1, inc x 6 means single crochet one stitch, increase in the next stitch. Repeat 6 times.
Rounded brackets ( ) indicate the number of stitches you should have after each round/row.
Materials:
Yarn – Weight-2 acrylic yarn.
I am using two strands at once, you can use different colored strands or use a thicker yarn.
Hook – 3.5mm hook
Scissors
You can use this pattern with any type of yarn with the recommended hook size.
Abbreviations:
mr – magic ring
ch – chain
dc – double crochet
tr – treble crochet
st(s) – stitch(es)
sl st – slip stitch
sp – space
Special Stitches
dc4tog – double crochet 4 together
Yarn over, insert hook into the sp, yarn over and pull up a loop (3 loops on hook).
Yarn over, pull through 2 loops (2 loops remain).
Repeat this process 3 more times in the same st (5 loops on hook).
Yarn over and pull through all 5 loops to complete the dc4tog.
Popcorn Stitch
Work 4 dc in the same stitch.
Pull up the loop on your hook to make it loose and remove the hook.
Insert the hook into the top of the first dc of the group, then reinsert it into the loose loop.
Pull the loop through the first dc to close the popcorn.
