Inspired by the bold colours and wild lines of the 1960s flower power movement, and updated with a neutral but by no means bland tweeded base colour and simple construction, these Flower Power Socks are fun, stylish and very unique.

Construction
Instructions are given for toe-up socks with a short-row contrast heel, however it is easy to adapt this pattern to use your preferred toe-up sock recipe.

A small section of stranded colourwork and a combination of short rows and the sloped bind off method are used to create the wavy, flowery cuff.

Sizes
Size small will fit feet with a circumference of 21.5 – 22.5cm
(8 1/2 – 8 3/4”).
Size medium will fit feet with a circumference of 23 – 25cm (9 – 9 7/8”).
Size large will fit feet with a circumference of 25.5 – 27.5 cm (10 – 10 3/4”).
Lengths are variable.

Gauge
32 sts per 10cm (4”) and 42 rounds per 10cm (4”) in stockinette on 2.25mm (US 1) needles.

Suggested needles
2.25mm (US 1) DPNs or circulars using the magic loop method.

Suggested yarn
Main colour: Holst Garn Highland in colour Woodstock or other sock yarn. Two 50g skeins of your main colour yarn should be enough for most sizes, however if your feet are particularly large or long, you may need a little bit extra just to be safe.
Contrast colour: Coop Knits Socks Yeah! in colour Almandine or contrasting sock yarn. Half a 50g skein should be enough for
all sizes.
