An easy stitch pattern that’s quick to memorise, Vertical Drop Stitch creates flowing lines that will flatter your hands while keeping them warm. An interesting feature of this pattern is that it looks good on either side, so you get to choose!
Two sizes are given. Most women would comfortably fit the small/medium size. Photo shows large size.

Wool: 50 gr of 4ply Sock wool is just enough knit the large size. Solid colours are recommened as they showcase the stitch pattern beautifully, though semi solids with low constrast will do nicely too.
Here: 50g Shibui Sock Wool 4ply, in Wasabi, a low contrast semi solid colour.

Needle: US2/ 2.75mm circular needles, (or DPNs).

Gauge: 32sts over 4”/10cm.

Size: This is essentially a ribbed pattern, so there is a lot of stretch available- up to 2”/5cm.
S/M: Circumference unstretched: 5“/13cm. Length: 9”/23cm. Weight: 40g
M/L: Circumference (unstretched): 6.5”/17cm. Length: 9”/23cm Weight: 50g

Notions: 2 markers for thumbs increases, scrap yarn for holding live stitches, darning needle.
